Since Tom offered, how does next Tuesday, May 22nd sound for having a soiree to discuss our Summer Program?  The 22nd works great for me, and it appears several others.

 

Along similar lines, I have talked to Sister Christian, er, I mean Sister MM, and she is OK, and in fact in favor of us, coming in to do a recruitment drive.  Current Cubs can wear their uniforms, we can raise the flag in the morning, etc.  She only asks that we do not do it on a Wednesday, as that is the day they attend mass as a school.  I suggest that we do it the Tuesday of the last week of school.  Any sooner, and they will forget about our Pinball Tournament Recruitment meeting.  We need to confirm when and whom will do this, and then procure fliers (I think I have some).

I will talk to Chris Gombas, and see if he can get D2 to agree to let us in there, or at least distribute fliers.  I will try to talk to Marty Ryczhcek also - he is assistant principal at Palmer school - perhaps we can recruit from there also.

With this reprieve in timing, we need to clearly define our summer schedule so we can present it to the pack. We're talking about a fishing trip, family picnic, possibly an orienteering hike, Walen Pool, etc. Let's get together and select dates and someone to head up each event. (I don't fish so I'm useless for that.)

 

As for dates I'm going to suggest:

Wed 5/30

 

If we can't find a room at St. Ed's I am willing to host. I have about half a keg of Honkers Ale in the keggerator to keeps things moving smoothly.

Subject: PACK SHOUT OUT - THIS THURSDAY'S PACK NIGHT POSTPONED!!!!

 

Due to many conflicts with schedules with our scouts, and with our leaders, including several of our leaders who will be occupied, as part of their jobs, with the upcoming NATO Summit, we have made the decision to postpone this month's Pack Night.  There were simply too many people who were informing us that they could not be there, or that they would need to leave early due to it being a school night.  We apologize for any inconveniences.

 

The new night has been confirmed and a room reserved for Friday June 1st, at 7PM in the school gym.  Those scouts attending Catholic Schools should have ended school by that time, the public school scouts will have one or two more weeks, but will be winding down.  This will also give our leadership enough time to prepare proper ceremonies celebrating all that our youth have done.

This will be a VERY important meeting, as we will be having ceremonies for each rank and for each crossover.  Please make every effort to attend, and please communicate with your son's Den Leaders in advance as to whether there are any elective awards they should be earning.

 

Mark your calenders also for Friday June 15th at 7PM - On that night we will still hold our regular June Pack Night.  This will be an all fun night of PINBALL!!  It will also serve as a Recruitment Night for new Scouts, and we will have an Ice Cream Social to end the evening.

Subject: PACK SHOUT OUT - PACK NIGHT - THIS THURSDAY MAY 17TH 2012

Pack 3904's May Pack Night will take place this upcoming THURSDAY, MAY 17TH, 2012 at 7PM in the school gym.  PLEASE NOTE THE DAY CHANGE!!   This was done due to a conflict with Gallery 43.

 

This is one of our most important Pack Nights of the year - On the program will be our Awards ceremonies and crossover ceremonies for (hopefully all) of our Cubs.  We will also have a representative from the Chicago Area Council present to discuss some important matters.  At the behest of several parents, this meeting will begin promptly at 7PM and will be kept as brief as possible, since Friday is a school day for our scouts.

 

Please make every effort to be there with your family, as it is important for our Scouts to be recognized for the hard work they have done throughout the past year.

 

And, though the school year is coming to a close, there is no such thing in Scouting.  It is YEAR ROUND.  Many events have been planned, or are in the planning stages, for an active summer program.  Details on these will be discussed Thursday also.

 

We will strive our best to keep the OUTING in ScOUTING!!
