Service to others is one of the tenets that are at the heart of Scouting. Part of the Cub Scout Law is "to help other people".

Remember - Let's keep the OUTING in SCOUTING!!
As mentioned at the last Pack Night, Pack 3904 will be participating in the Chicago Area Council's 2013 Good Turn, which will take place next Saturday May 11th. This year, we will be helping to spread mulch, clean up, and get rid of invasive species at Douglas Park, located at 1400 South Sacramento. We have volunteered for the 9AM to 11AM time slot, and we estimate returning to St. Edward's at 12Noon.
To facilitate everyone getting there, we can meet at St. Edward's at 8AM and carpool there, or, parents are welcome to drive their children themselves and meet us there at 9AM. (We will know exact locations within the park to meet up at soon).
This is an excellent opportunity to allow your son to learn the value of volunteering, and seeing the fruits of their labors, and to live what they promise through the Cub Scout Promise.
I hope as many of our Scouts as possible will be there.
