PACK SHOUT OUT: Busy Weekend for the Cub Pack coming up!!

This weekend will be a very busy one for Cub Scout Pack 3904, and we hope that all can be there to make things a success.

First, this Saturday, September 24th, is the 1st St. Edward's Clean and Green.  Since service hours are now mandatory for all grade levels at St. Ed's (and in some of the public schools too), this is a good opportunity to earn those hours.  There are two times to choose from - either 9Am to 12 Noon, or 1PM to 4PM.  Now here is where the Cub Scout Part comes in.  If your son is going to attend this event anyway, why not show up in uniform, so that the school and church  people see that there is a busy and viable Cub Scout Pack at St. Edward's.  This is open to non-St. Ed's students also - they could use all of the help they can get, and part of the Scouting way is cheerful service.

This Sunday, September 25th, we will be celebrating the All-Scout Mass.  The Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and their families will all attend the 9:30 AM mass, in full uniform.  The first 6 rows on each side of the church will be reserved for us.  The Unit flags will be part of the procession, and various members of each unit will be selected to be readers, ushers, gift bearers, etc.  Cub Scouts and leaders should show up in full uniform, and plan on arriving approximately 10 minutes before mass.  Father John Taylor (St. Ed's retired priest-in-residence), and a former Sea Scout himself, will be the presiding priest.

Also this Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY!!!!  PUSHCART RACES IN THE CHURCH PARKING LOT!!!!   1PM to 3PM or so.  The Troop has 3 pushcarts, and the Cub Scouts will be divided into teams to face off against one another in a NO HOLDS BARRED RACE TO THe death.., er ah, sorry - got carried away there.  Various heats and races will be run, all with the best of safety measures in mind.   Scouts do not need to wear their uniforms, but are asked to be certain to wear long pants and closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals) to help prevent injuries. The Pushcart races will go on rain or shine (unless we get a monsoon).

All Den Leaders and Assistant Cubmasters are asked to arrive at the Pushcart Races at 12 Noon in order to help set up.  It is also asked that each leader bring a snack or individual type of beverage so that we have snacks for the Cubs.  If we each bring something, the cost burden should not be too great.

Let's keep the OUTING in Scouting, and keep up Pack 3904's reputation as the most active Pack in Mayfair!!
